The rain in Spain...
falls mainly right here, it seems!! It's been coming down for over two weeks now, amazing!! The old cisterna is almost overflowing - total respect for the elders around here, they knew what they were doing, putting things where they should be. No watering required (almost a shame, I quite like that evening ritual). All good apart from unfortunately the rain is also falling inside the big house and coming up through the cracks in the floor grouting in the small house...NOT really how it's supposed to be...BASTARD sneaky thieving cheating builders, arrrggghhh!
Anyway, just back from a week in La Grave, northern France, visiting friends with a new baby, very chilled and sweet. La Grave was amazing and was (somewhat irritatingly) much warmer than here - think sitting barefoot in T-shirt smothered in sunscreen looking at a glacier of green ice on other side of valley...
Garden is going pretty mad with all the rain, although a bit of sun now would have really speeded up the process. Courgettes and sugar-snap peas are winning the race and we'll have more than we'll ever be able to eat I think - any takers? Paul has bought a shredder for 600 Euros which was bought from someone who used it once and then sold it to the person we bought it off who has used it...never...Boys and their toys, sounds familiar? No piccies today, but for you Has I can report that the eagle couple has returned and are living in the forest ;-). We have sadly also given up the hope that Sissi the dog will return and will adopt a puppy of our neighbours', a Pyreneean sheepdog, big as a smallish donkey (when grown-up) - they can try to steal that one!!! Ha!
